FACE PROCEDURES

Silhouette Lift™ is an FDA approved minimally invasive technique used to lift and tighten sagging tissue in the mid to lower face. Silhouette Lift can also be used to tighten sagging skin on the neck and face.

How Does Silhouette Lift™ Work? Silhouette Lift™ uses a new type of suspension sutures developed specifically for the procedure. The Silhouette Sutures™ offer significantly greater lift thanks to their unique bio-resorbable cones. The Silhouette Sutures are made of a non-absorbable polypropylene strand, which holds several flexible, absorbable hollow cones. These cones allow tissue growth inside and around the hollow cones, creating a much stronger anchoring mechanism compared to traditional sutures. One of the most unique features of the Silhouette Sutures is their ability to be retightened after a few years to provide extended longevity to the face lift.

ABOUT THE PROCEDURE

Silhouette Lift is an outpatient procedure performed under local anesthesia. You will remain awake and alert during the procedure, but will be unaware of any pain. The procedure takes about one hour. You will be able to leave immediately following the procedure.

SILHOUETTE LIFT

The first step in the Silhouette Lift procedure is to administer a local anesthesia. You will remain awake, yet relaxed and unaware of any pain or discomfort.
A tiny incision will be made in the temporal region (in front of the ear) just above the hair line. In the case of a neck lift, the incision will be made behind the ear.

Using a special device, the Silhouette Sutures™ are inserted into predetermined locations on the mid to lower face. Depending on the desired lift, one or several sutures will be inserted.

The Silhouette Sutures are pulled tight to give the desired lift and anchored in the temporal region. The incision is closed using fine sutures. In most cases no dressings are necessary. The physician will review any special care instructions.

SILHOUETTE LIFT POST-OP

The entire procedure takes about one hour. You will be able to leave the office immediately. The most common side effect reported is temporary soreness in the incision site. You can return to normal activities in two days.

SILHOUETTE LIFT RESULTS

The results of Silhouette Lift are immediate. Right away, you will notice improved fullness in the face with greater definition in the contours of the face and jaw.Silhouette Lift has proven to last three to four years in most patients. A quick, outpatient maintenance procedure can help to extend these results for an additional three to four years.Silhouette Lift™ is an exciting new procedure that offers significant lift without invasive surgery. Ideal for both men and women, Silhouette Lift offers immediate results to help you look younger and fresher.

HOW SILHOUETTE LIFT™ COMPARES TO OTHER PROCEDURES

Silhouette Lift™ vs. Injectables
Injectable treatments such hyalouronic fillers offer temporary relief from signs of aging. Though some may last up to a year, regular treatment is needed to maintain the results.Silhouette Lift lasts up to 4 years, giving a more permanent improvement. With Silhouette Lift, there is no risk of allergic reaction or rejection . Silhouette Lift uses bio-compatible sutures that are FDA approved in the United States and CE marked in Europe for safety and effectiveness.

Silhouette Lift™ vs. Traditional Facelift
Although Silhouette Lift doesn’t replace a traditional facelift for those who truly need it, it can delay a facelift for many years. Silhouette Lift offers a number of benefits compared to a traditional facelift including:

  • In-office procedure under local anesthesia vs. hospital setting with general anesthesia
  • More affordable – Silhouette Lift is a fraction of the cost of traditional facelift
  • Less downtime – Return to normal activities in 2 – 4 days
  • Immediate results
  • Quicker recovery – Full results in a week

Fat transfers have been used to fill facial flaws such as hollowed cheeks and sunken eyes or indented scars. Today, fat transfers are used to augment many other areas of the body, including the buttocks, calf muscles, breasts, hands. Fat transfers are considered the traditional method for surgically rounding out the edges of a small localized area of the body as compared to the body implant approach in which implants are used to produce a more shapely appearance required by a larger area of the body.

The beauty of a fat transfer is that the materials used to augment the desired body part are your own fat cells. This makes the procedure unquestionably bio-compatible and non-allergenic. Also, a body fat transfer feels more natural than a body implant. The goal of the procedure is to improve the appearance of the localized body-part area that needs improvement.

A percentage of the injected fat is absorbed (around 40 percent) so patients may require more than one treatment to achieve the best results. Each time the procedure is repeated, more fat is accumulated in the treated area. This tends to offer longer-lasting results, even lifetime results.

IS FAT TRANSFER RIGHT FOR ME?

Exercise is the best way to improve the appearance of your body; however, aging and genetics may make workout programs unrealistic for certain small areas of the body. Genetically, fat may be unevenly distributed causing disproportional features. Patients in their mid 30s to 70s who have lost volume in a specific body area may benefit from fat transfers. Realistic expectations are extremely important in the decision for a fat transfer.

THE FAT TRANSFER PROCEDURE

The procedure is often performed under “twilight sedation,” which includes a combination of medications that make you feel sleepy and numbed, but awake. The procedure may be performed also under general anesthesia. The procedure varies depending upon the technique and the area to be treated.

The most commonly treated locations are the face, buttocks, breast, calf, and hand (for rejuvenation the fat cells are processed and purified on). Fine canullas are used to harvest and transfer the fat cells at the recipient areas. The fat cells are processed and purified before the re-injection.

It takes three to four days for the first capillaries in the body to reach the transplanted fat cells. Unfortunately, during those three to four days, up to 40 percent of the transferred fat cells will die. For this reason, doctors will overfill the treated area to allow for the dissipation of transferred fat cells. Since many of the transferred fat cells may eventually be reabsorbed in the body, the results may be unpredictable. The results of fat transfers may last for many years. Many cases result in the transfer lasting a lifetime. Each time the procedure is repeated, more fat is accumulated in the treated area. This tends to offer longer-lasting results.

AFTER FAT TRANSFER SURGERY

Dr Skarparis will instruct you about the postoperative care. There is typically swelling and some bruising. The swelling may last for several weeks. However, bruising will subside within a few days. Discomfort can be managed with oral medications. Normal activities can often be resumed almost immediately, except that you are advised to stay out of the sun. Patients should notice a marked improvement after the procedure. However, final results may not be evident for several months or longer.

COMPLICATIONS AND RISKS

Complications are possible with any medical procedure, but complications from fat transfers are infrequent. The most common, but infrequent, complications of fat transfers include uneven skin texture, infection. If fat is injected into two or more areas, patients may have asymmetry whereby the fat appears uneven in different areas. Treatment for complications can range from oral medications to surgical intervention, depending upon the extent of the complication. Following the doctor’s instructions before and after the procedure can reduce the risk of complications

Botox injection is the most commonly performed cosmetic procedure in the United States. When you smile, laugh, frown, you contract the muscles of your face. Over time, these contractions produce permanent furrows and deep wrinkles in the skin, especially around the eyes (crow’s feet), mouth (marionette lines), between the eyebrows and on the forehead. These wrinkles can make you look older, sad, angry, or tired. BOTOX is a therapeutic muscle-relaxing agent approved by the FDA for several different uses. When used for cosmetic purposes, it is a quick, safe, and effective way to reduce or eliminate facial  wrinkles without surgery and with little to no downtime and discomfort. With the help of BOTOX , Dr. Skarparis can give your face a younger, fresher, and rejuvenated look.

BOTOX FOR THE TREATMENT OF HYPERIDROSIS.

BOTOX® neurotoxin treatment helps control the symptoms of severe underarm sweating ,excessive sweating of the hands and feet when topical medicines do not work well enough by temporarily blocking the chemical signals from the nerves that stimulate the sweat glands. When the sweat glands don’t receive chemical signals, the severe sweating stops. BOTOX®injections are expected to temporarily stop the production of excessive sweat in the treated areas only. Sweat continues to be produced elsewhere.

WHERE DOES THE SWEAT GO?

Your sweat doesn’t go anywhere or get backed up because the sweat simply is not produced in the areas treated with BOTOX®. Remember, the rest of your body is free to produce moisture normally.

Fillers, such as Juvéderm™ and Restylane®, are safe, effective, FDA-approved injectable gels that gently smooth away moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, and restores volume and contour to the skin of the face. Both are made of hyaluronic acid (HA), a natural, biocompatible, water-binding gel that is found throughout your body. Since it is not of animal or human origin there is no risk of allergic reactions to HA. Facial fillers are designed to smooth out wrinkles and fine lines, sculpt lips, and shape facial various contour irregularities. They are especially effective around the nasolabial folds (deep furrows from the root of the nose to the angle of your mouth), and the glabellar lines (between the eyebrows) and generally where there are static (permanent) wrinkles at the face. With minimal patient downtime and discomfort, the results are immediate and natural-looking.

Hyaluronic acids  for tissue augmentation (Voluma, Restylane Subcute) are designed and used  to restore the lost volume of the face volume and bring back your youthful beauty, vitality and attractiveness lost with the process of aging. The hyaluronic acid  filler is injected into the specific fat buttress regions of the face. The procedure restores the three dimensional structure of the soft tissue fat pads of the facial structures without surgery or the associated down time of a outpatient surgical facelift. The results are amazing as the procedures restores and fills the loss of the youthful appearance of the skin and “fullness of youth.”A youthful face has a series of attractive convexities and corresponding concavities, fullness of the brows, cheeks and jaw line that we define as attractive. The youthful and attractive face is supported by deep buttresses of fat that lift and support the overlying skin and soft tissue, lending the contours of youth and beauty. This procedure is a simple and natural way to obtain these desired results as an outpatient procedure.

The duration of your injectable lift effect will vary depending upon the product used. With the newer products available you can expect the effects to last from one to two years. The decision on the fillers used is typically done during the consultation with Dr. Skarparis. This procedure will require “maintenance” to maintain the natural youthful appearance you desire. Cheek and chin augmentation are very frequent procedures performed with the use of facial fillers when surgery is not wanted.

Age doesn’t have to look the way it used to. It’s more subtle. More gradual. Shouldn’t your anti-age be just as subtle?

Sculptra is a new type of facial injectable made from poly-L-lactic acid, which helps to replace lost collagen. It helps correct loss of volume from the face, shallow to deep facial wrinkles, and folds, that appear with aging, by replacing lost collagen. The main ingredient is a biocompatible, biodegradable synthetic material that has been used by physicians for decades. Sculptra gives you subtle results over time. A full treatment of Sculptra , an average of three injection sessions over a few months, can last more than two years .

SCULPTRA WORKS WITHIN THE DEEP DERMIS

Within the deep dermis, your skin’s structure is reinforced as Sculptra helps to replace lost collagen. This reinforced collagen structure provides a foundation that gradually restores the look of fullness of your face or to correct shallow to deep facial wrinkles and folds that has been depleted over time. This can provide a refined, more youthful looking appearance that can last more than two years.

CLATUU 360° FAT FREEZING

As fat cells are exposed to cold they can be selectively and permanently destroyed. The sub-zero temperatures cause the fat cells to die. The cells are then absorbed and they are flushed away by the body over the next few months leaving the patient sleeker and slimmer. It’s suitable for patients with topical fat. Usually, 1-3 treatments are enough to achieve the desired result. This treatment is the alternative to liposuction.

If you want to improve the appearance of your skin, skin rejuvenation or resurfacing may be right for you.

Skin rejuvenation can be achieved in a number of ways, ranging from laser, light and other energy-based treatments to chemical peels and other non-ablative methods. The result is a smoother, clearer and more youthful appearance to your skin.

WHAT CAN SKIN REJUVENATION TREAT?

Skin rejuvenation is a painless treatment to resurface your skin, or to improve the texture, clarity and overall appearance of your skin.

Conditions that can be treated include:

  • Static wrinkles: These wrinkles are visible at all times and do not change in appearance with facial movements.
  • Pigmentation: Freckles, sun spots, or other darkened patches of skin result mainly from sun exposure.
  • Scars: As the result of acne or injury to the skin, scars may be rolling (a wavy appearance to the skin), pitted, or have raised borders.
  • Vascular conditions: Blood vessels visible on the surface of the skin, vascular lesions that appear as tiny blood filled blisters or even a constant flush of facial redness.
  • Loss of skin tone: Weakening of the supportive skin structure (collagen and elastin fibers) that results in a loss of skin firmness. This can be treated due to production of collagen fibres after the application of thermal energy from the laser treatment to the skin.

FRACTIONAL RESURFACE (ERBIUM – YAG FRACTIONAL RESURFACE – FRAXEL 1540 NON ABLATIVE RESURFACE)

This is the newest laser treatments for skin rejuvenation with minimal down time.   Fraxel skin rejuvenation creates tiny wounds in the deeper layer of the skin (dermis). Each wound is surrounded by untreated skin, helping to repair the treated area via a controlled wound-healing process.  The patient can return to work even the next day and within a week he will observe the improvement skin texture.

Fraxel laser therapy is approved for a variety of rejuvenating treatments, including the shrinking of large pores. It is the first and only laser approved for treatment of melasma (the mask of pregnancy), a condition marked by brown patches on both sides of the face, including the cheeks, bridge of nose, forehead and upper lip. Fraxel therapy can be used to treat the neck, chest and hands.

SKIN REJUVENATION RECOVERY

When your procedure is completed, you will be instructed on how to care for the treated skin.  Few treatments within 2 weeks interval can be recommended to achieve the optimum result. The cost of fractional laser face treatment varies from the amount of treatments for the individual patient and is an affordable treatment.

Following your treatment, the texture of skin will be remarkably improved and the process of skin aging will be slowed down.

A cosmetic procedure where a formula tailored to each individual for a desired result is injected into layers of fat beneath the skin.  The formula can be used for cellulite treatment, weight loss, wrinkle prevention, skin restoration and is a popular alternative to invasive procedures like liposuction.

The injection formula is comprised of a combination of homeopathic and pharmaceutical medications including amino acids, plant extracts, vitamins and minerals.  Some of the ingredients are for breaking down the fat within the each cell, others are for improving the metabolism that processes the destroyed fat and the rest cosmetic improvements like skin elasticity.  There is no downtime associated with mesotherapy and minimal pain or bruising.

PLATELET RICH PLASMA THERAPY

The platelet rich plasma therapy is a treatment modality that has been in many medical specialties to promote tissue healing and regeneration. It Is  used in orthopedics to promote bone and tendon repair,in oral surgery, for repair of damaged cardiac muscle and in plastic surgery for wounds repair. PRP is the latest technology in anti-aging rejuvenation .Is using one’s own blood product, plasma, which is rich in platelets, to stimulate collagen.  Platelets contain bioactive proteins that replace, repair and regenerate tissue.  These proteins release growth factors, which trigger Mesenchymal Stem Cells (MSCs) to initiate collagen stimulation and growth.

SKIN REJUVENATION

A small amount of the patient’s blood is drawn and centrifuged to extract the platelet rich plasma. The end result being two products: the concentrated plasma/platelets and the red/white blood cells.

The plasma/platelet product is then injected into the  area  we want to treat and activated.  During activation the platelets release the bioactive proteins.  When PRP is injected into the compromised area it causes a mild inflammation that signals healing.  As the platelets organize they release enzymes to promote tissue responses that attract stem cells to repair the damaged area.  The result is new collagen.

The benefits to Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy are: No synthetic product – the product is your body’s own tissue; no possibility of rejection, minimizing risk; Natural results – Improved skin texture; diminished lines and wrinkles; increased volume due to improved collagen and elastin; decreases dermal scarring;  Crepe skin around the eye, neck and décolletage is tightened; Minimal down time and short recovery period; No sedation required, only slight discomfort during treatment;Side effects may include: Pain and/or itching at the injection site;Bruising and redness of the skin.

PRP for cosmetic purposes is safe for most individuals between the ages of 25-80, however those with the following conditions are not considered candidates for PRP:

  • Acute and chronic infections
  • Fever
  • Skin diseases
  • Cancer and chemotherapy
  • Severe metabolic and systemic disorders
  • Blood disorders

PRP used as mesotherapy can give you a more youthful ,glowing skin .It can  improve the texture of your skin.PRP can be used for the treatment of hair loss as well .

PRP HAIR LOSS TREATMENT

The hair loss treatment PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) is an innovative method for the treatment of hair loss in men and women. It is based on the platelet rich plasma which is directly injected in the areas of the scalp showing dilution.

As a method, the PRP is highly effective both as a hair loss treatment and as a treatment to aid hair transplantation. However the method is not appropriate in areas where there is no presence of follicles.

When implemented as a hair loss treatment, PRP is able to reactivate the impaired hair follicles that do not operate properly in order to provide invigorated hair larger in diameter and length.

IN WHICH CASES DO WE IMPLEMENT PRP?

PRP treatment is applied to men & women who suffer from hair loss at early or advanced stages:

·    For the treatment of Androgenetic Alopecia

·  As a supportive treatment to Hair Transplantation

·  For the treatment of hair loss of various causes

·  To prevent hair loss

THE RESULTS OF PRP TREATMENT

The results from the application of hair loss treatment with PRP are encouraging both in the quality and quantity of hair.
